Thank you so much for the article, Sami! I was aware of the scraping of all the ML-datasets, but never thought about the public digital archives of museums. I'm pleased to have learned how to explore datasets and do the reverse search you presented.

You start strong about the museums' activities regarding AI, and the upcoming of the online collections in relation to visitors/users and entertainment's competition. In this context, I expected to read your opinion on the collections and AI in the conclusion, not necessarily aesthetic scoring.

As museums operate mainly on exhibitions with selected pieces, I miss the factor of curation and human selection of art, especially in comparison to the ‘user-generated data’. I understand that the ‘strand of research’ you refer to is based on the platforms they got the data from, but how does that relate to the museum and how they assess art.

Do museums collect data about visitors' beauty evaluations / aesthetic appreciation of their art? I'm curious.

Just my two cents obviously; looking forward to meeting and discussing in person! ☆彡
