Hi Maya, Thanks for the great thoughts. Your entrypoint of the discussion through the gaze is a very valuable one to consider further. I want to particularly think about this from the perspective of the "receiver" (for lack of a better term) of this objectifying gaze. Somewhat in line with Ildikó Zonga Plájás who suggests vision is a relational practice. The tension you point out between objectification and care (and who receives which) certainly invites me to think about the indifference of the subject from another angle.
